Google TV Built In

Full Google TV with Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, and thousands of apps right out of the box. No Chromecast or Fire Stick needed.

Auto Keystone & Focus

ISA 2.0 tech handles keystone correction and autofocus automatically. Point it at a wall and it figures out the rest in about 3 seconds.

In-Depth Review

Most portable projectors make you choose between picture quality and actually being able to carry the thing around. The XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro is one of the few that gets both right, or at least close enough that you stop thinking about the tradeoff.

At 1080p native resolution with 450 ISO lumens, its bright enough for a dark room and watchable in a dimly lit one. Don’t expect to use it during the day with curtains open though. Thats still a limitation at this price range and size.

The Google TV integration is what really sets it apart from competitors. You turn it on and you’re looking at the same interface you’d see on a Chromecast. All your streaming apps are there, the remote has a built in mic for voice search, and it actually runs smoothly without the lag you’d expect from a projector OS. I was surprised by how snappy the menus felt.

Sound quality from the dual Harman Kardon speakers is decent for a device this size. Good enough for movie night in a bedroom or on a patio. You probably want external speakers or a soundbar for anything bigger than a casual setup, but its not the tinny garbage you get from most budget projectors.

The auto keystone and focus system works shockingly well. You can set this thing on a nightstand at a weird angle and it corrects itself in seconds. It even avoids obstacles like light switches and picture frames on the wall, which is a neat trick that actually works about 80% of the time.

Battery life is the weak spot. You get maybe 2.5 hours on a charge, which means most movies need the power cord. For short episodes or YouTube sessions its fine, but calling it truly portable feels like a stretch when you need to plug it in halfway through a film.

What We Like

  • Google TV runs smooth with no lag, every major streaming app is preinstalled
  • Auto keystone correction and focus actually work, not just a gimmick
  • Harman Kardon speakers sound way better than you’d expect from a portable

What Could Be Better

  • Battery only lasts about 2.5 hours, not enough for most full length movies
  • 450 lumens means its basically unusable in a bright room or outdoor daylight
  • At $449 its not cheap, and you can find brighter (non-portable) options for less

Final Verdict

The MoGo 3 Pro is the projector you buy when you dont want to deal with external streaming devices, finicky setups, or terrible built in speakers. Google TV makes it feel like an actual smart device instead of a projector pretending to be one. The battery life is the main thing holding it back from true portability, but if you’re mostly using it at home with occasional backyard movie nights, its hard to beat at this level.
