SwitchBot makes a lot of smart home stuff. Like, a lot. Scrolling through their product page feels overwhelming, and half of it sounds like it does the same thing. After testing a bunch of their lineup, these are the five devices we think are actually worth buying. No filler picks, just the ones that solved real problems around the house.
1
SwitchBot Hub 2
The Hub That Ties Everything Together
Temp/Humid
Built-in Sensor
Matter Compatible
IR Blaster Built In
Must Have
Start here. The Hub 2 is what makes every other SwitchBot device actually smart. It connects to your WiFi, bridges Bluetooth devices to Matter, and doubles as an IR blaster for controlling TVs and AC units. The built in temperature and humidity sensor is a nice bonus. Without this, most SwitchBot gadgets are just manual gadgets with an app. With it, you get real automations and voice control through Alexa, Google, or HomeKit.
2
SwitchBot Lock Pro
Smart Lock That Fits Over Your Existing Deadbolt
No Drilling
Renter Friendly
Most smart locks want you to replace your entire deadbolt. The SwitchBot Lock Pro just sits on top of whatever you already have. That makes it perfect for renters or anyone who doesnt want to mess with their door hardware. Auto lock, remote unlock through the hub, and about 9 months of battery life. Setup takes maybe 10 minutes with an adhesive mount. The only catch is you need the Hub 2 for remote access, which adds to the total cost.
3
SwitchBot Blind Tilt
Motorize Your Existing Blinds for Under $50
Solar Powered
Under $50
This is the kind of product that sounds gimmicky until you actually install it. Clip it onto your existing horizontal blinds, pair it with the app, and suddenly your blinds open on a schedule, close at sunset, or respond to voice commands. The solar panel keeps it charged so you basically never think about batteries. At $40ish per window its one of the cheapest smart home upgrades you can make and also one of the most satisfying. We’ve had ours running for weeks now with zero issues.
4
SwitchBot Mini Robot Vacuum K10+
The Robot Vacuum That Fits Under Your Couch
Ultra Compact
Self Emptying
At 3.6 inches tall, the K10+ goes under furniture that stops every other robot vacuum. If you’ve got a couch with 4 inch clearance, low bed frames, or tight spaces between furniture, this thing actually reaches them. The self emptying dock means you dont have to touch the dustbin for weeks. Suction isnt as powerful as full size robots but for daily maintenance cleaning in a small apartment, its more than enough. Probably the most underrated product SwitchBot makes.
5
Aqara FP2 Presence Sensor
Best Pairing Partner for Any SwitchBot Setup
mmWave Radar
Zone Detection
Not technically a SwitchBot product, but it pairs incredibly well with the ecosystem via Matter. The FP2 uses mmWave radar to detect presence, not just motion. That means your lights stay on while youre reading on the couch instead of turning off because you havent moved in 5 minutes. It can track up to 5 zones in a single room, which is wild for a $55 sensor. Connect it to your SwitchBot Hub 2 and suddenly your automations actually work the way you imagined they would.
How These All Work Together
The real magic with SwitchBot isnt any single device. Its how they chain together. Hub 2 connects everything. Lock Pro secures your door and auto locks when you leave. Blind Tilt opens your blinds at sunrise. The K10+ runs a cleaning schedule while you’re at work. And the Aqara FP2 triggers lights and devices based on where you actually are in the room. Build it piece by piece and within a few weeks your home just… runs itself.
